
Dane Laboyrie is a Sydney based musician specialising in trumpet & vocals.
He is widely regarded as one of the most versatile and in-demand session musicians in the country where he has established himself as a prominent, reliable and well respected figure in the industry.
Dane has trained under some of Australia's leading musicians and educators at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music where he completed his Bachelor of music (Jazz Performance) after which he quickly rose to prominence due to his unique and diverse talent and professionalism.
Dane's passion for many different styles and genres has allowed him to carve out his own unique path within the industry, working with some of the biggest stars in the world across a range of genres such as Taylor Swift, Hugh Jackman, Michael Buble, Noel Gallagher, 50 Cent, Kurt Elling, Tim Minchin and Mumford & Sons just to name a few.
Dane has become well known for his energetic, vibrant and entertaining on stage presence and when he’s not hyping up a crowd or jumping off nightclub speakers as his club alias The Hornstar, he can also be found in professional theatre orchestra pits playing for some of the biggest Broadway musicals in the country such as Disney’s Aladdin, Wicked or the Tina Turner Musical, where he is currently principle trumpet for the Sydney season at the Theatre Royal.
Dane's inclusion in many high-profile musical events and performances over the years has given him invaluable experience and musical maturity that far exceed his age. In the last few years alone, he has been involved in three seperate large-scale Australian / New Zealand tours with Tim Minchin, Hugh Jackman, and Noel Gallagher.
As well as international artists, Dane has also worked with a long list of prominent Australian artists such as Guy Sebastian, Jessica Mauboy Jimmy Barnes, Ian Moss, Kate Cebarano, The Hilltop Hoods, The Cat Empire, Boy and Bear, The Kite String Tangle, and Brian McFadden.
